LOS
ANGELES, CA - The Village Voice
recently noted “There’s no business like
Gaynor’s show business” and now fresh on
the heels of attracting a new generation of fans with her acclaimed
Emmy®
winning PBS
musical documentary,
Mitzi Gaynor: Razzle Dazzle! The Special
Years, -- Green Isle Inc. proudly announces Mitzi Gaynor’s
return to the stage in all new
one-woman show,
RAZZLE DAZZLE! MY LIFE
BEHIND THE SEQUINS.
Legendary star Mitzi Gaynor lights up the
stage in an intimate evening of laughs, love and
music from her show-stopping life and career in
Razzle Dazzle! My Life Behind the
Sequins.
This unforgettable love letter to a great era of
show business is part concert and part
autobiography. Mitzi shares
about her life through
side-splitting stories and song, along
with stunning video footage culled from her
television, concert and film work,
in a glittering multimedia one woman
tour-de-force.
Her reminiscences are intimate reflections from
her personal life - her brief love affair with
Howard Hughes, her first date with
husband-to-be, producer Jack Bean (and a
marriage that lasted 52 years), an amusing
monologue about getting dressed to go to the
legendary club El Morocco in the high-glam
1950’s - and feature often hilarious anecdotes
of her famous friends and costars including
Gene Kelly, Frank Sinatra, Rossano Brazzi, Ethel
Merman, and Marilyn Monroe.
Along with a seven piece orchestra led by
musical director/pianist Ed Czach,
orchestrations are by Ovation Award winner
Colin R. Freeman (Lorna Luft's Songs My
Mother Taught Me) and Helen Hayes Award
nominee Nick DeGregorio (42nd Street
National Tour), the
Emmy®
winner and Golden Globe®
nominated star of blockbuster musicals including
Rodgers & Hammerstein’s South Pacific,
Les Girls and There’s No Business Like
Show Business performs a virtual
songfest of signature musical selections from
her film, television and nightclub catalog
including a cavalcade
of Broadway, Hollywood and Pop hits by
Rodgers & Hammerstein, Irving Berlin,
Peter Allen and Stevie Wonder such as
“There’s No Business Like Show Business”,
“Honey Bun”, “Everything Old is New Again” and
“You Are The Sunshine of My Life” amongst
others, while also tackling new material like
“Show Off” from the recent Tony® winning
Broadway smash The Drowsy Chaperone, all
set to staging by director/choreographer Tony
Charmoli (Woman of the Year).
This new production, which recently completed an
acclaimed two-week engagement in New York City,
is scripted by Miss Gaynor and conceived and
constructed by Emmy®
winning producers Rene Reyes and Shane
Rosamonda and features
six new breathtaking costume creations by
legendary fashion designer Bob Mackie.
Razzle Dazzle! My Life Behind the
Sequins
is a once in a lifetime opportunity to
experience the electrifying magic and incredible
spirit of a true entertainment icon.
